Miasto Jest Nasze (City Is Ours ) in Warsaw was founded in 2013 to bring together efforts to improve the city and quality of life of ist inhabitants. They participated in the local elections the first time in 2014, where they introduced seven councilors to three district councils and in 2018, as part of the city-wide coalition of city movements, they obtained 22 council seats in seven districts. They are aiming to increase transparency and citizen participation and demand the right to fair use of the city within the principles of sustainable development, democracy, equality and social justice, an adequate standard of living and the right to self-determination. Miasto Jest Nasze is part of the Congress of Urban Movements, an association that brings together 40 organizations from 20 cities all over Poland, founded in 2011.
